All About Me

Shay is the owner of The Full Pitcher Counseling and Consulting Services.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Alabama and a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC).  She earned her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical (A & M) University in Huntsville, Alabama. She also holds a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Early Childhood Development from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Shay possesses a post masters certification in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) from Drexel University.

Shay brings over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families. Mrs. Whaley has worked in various settings including inpatient psychiatric facilities, schools, community mental health agencies, and private mental health agencies. She possesses specialized training in several areas including trauma and stress related disorders, behavioral management, and neurodivergent populations.  She is well versed in a wide array of therapeutic techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Shay also possesses specialized training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidence based treatment for trauma and stress related disorders.
